"I started Need A Sitter in 1990, after I called 13 babysitters to find one that could look after my three children so my husband and I could attend an event. I noticed it wasn’t just me. When we attended school parents’ night, cocktail parties or sporting events, I would notice someone was there alone. I would ask where their spouse was and the answer was always, ‘We couldn’t find a babysitter,’ or, ‘The babysitter didn’t show up.’ I decided I was tired of the teenager down the street always having plans with friends while I and others couldn’t get out of the house!  It was time to take action. Need A Sitter was created."-Colleen

"I am a mom of two, Parker (3) and Nicholas (2). As expected, my house is frequently full of love, food and chaos as my children barrel through the rooms playing like bear cubs. The best part of parenting for me has been watching as the two form an unbreakable bond. They really are each other’s best friend. As Parker commands, ‘Brother come see, come see!’ – or Nicholas says, ‘Sissy come play with me!’ my heart melts knowing they will be friends forever. … But let’s be real, these beautiful moments are also usually accompanied by something sticky, someone whining, and a wish on my end that it was bed time. Truth be told, being a mom is the greatest joy of my life; but I also know that being involved in other things and having ‘mommy time’ makes me a better mom. That’s why I put my energy behind this business. It’s been a lifesaver to many, including me."-Caroline
